This CD shows Caruso´s greatest art in singing the most sentimental songs without turning them into kitsch. Different than with operatic arias, the accompaniment of a brass-band adds, in this case, greatly to the character of this music.

archiphon rejects the general trend towards maximum suppression of background noise. In no case did we want to accept a Caruso whose voice is cut off from its overtones. In this way our recordings are guaranteed to be unfiltered. Caruso´s voice does not emerge muffled, but displays itself unhindered.  

 

Hier zeigt sich Carusos höchste Kunst, auch die sentimentalsten "Schnulzen" zu singen, ohne je in Kitsch zu verfallen. Anders als bei Opernarien trägt in diesem Fall die Blasmusikbegleitung durchaus zum Flair der Musik bei.  
Dem herrschenden Trend zu maximaler Rauschunterdrückung haben wir uns widersetzt. Einen im Obertonbereich "kastrierten" Caruso wollten wir auf keinen Fall akzeptieren. Daher sind unsere Überspielungen garantiert ungefiltert. Carusos Stimme kommt nicht dumpf aus der Röhre, sondern strahlt frei im Raum.
