This CD contains the very first recordings by Dinu Lipatti as well as some of his latest recordings from 1950, the year of his death.

The Zurich Concerto was newly remastered from the remaining "original" tape recordings of a Swiss collector. The sound is superior to previous issues on other labels, Lipatti´s expressive and dynamic approach can be heard, especially in the excerpts deriving from a tape with the direct recording from the radio broadcast (the history of this recordings is explained in the booklet notes by Mark Ainley).

Of special interest for the collector may be the previously unpublished recordings of Lipatti playing harpsichord (Paris 1936) as well as some Brahms Intermezzi from Bucharest 1941.
