Klemperer Rarities
See newly compiled Klemperer CD-Discography.
Klemperer recordings form
the centre of my collection. Apart from the commercial studio recordings a lot
of live performances have been published on LP and CD. My "Klemperer Rarities"
contain mainly unpublished or no more available recordings, mostly private tape recordings of
broadcast transmissions. Many of these recordings I due to the late
Lotte Klemperer, the conductor's daughter who cared for the musical heritage
of her father.
Transfers and remasterings
were done with greatest care and using professional software. The target though
was not to eliminate at any price background or surface noises, but to bring
back details and dynamics of Klemperer's interpretations. Therefore the series
also includes recordings already published on LP or CD, though in an
unappropriate technical quality or no more available.
The series will be
continued as far as possible chronologically and orientated to the orchestras
resp. recording places.
Amsterdam:
The sources of these recordings are mainly part of the archive of Philo Bregstein, who recorded them with an amateur tape recorder of the first generation from broadcast concert transmissions. Philo Bregstein also produced films on Klemperer.
