This CD, released in 2001, contains the very first recordings by Dinu Lipatti as well as some of his latest recordings from 1950, the year of his death.

The Zurich Concerto had been remastered from the remaining "original" tape recording of a Swiss collector, which was only a copy from another collector's direct recording taken from the radio broadcast. The history of these sources is explained in the booklet notes by Mark Ainley..

Of special interest  are the previously unpublished recordings of Lipatti playing harpsichord (Paris 1936) as well as some Brahms Intermezzi from Bucharest 1941.
